I had lots of firsts today, my first tube ride, first experience in rush hour on the tube. My first trip to the heart of London. We went to Picadilly Circus, Trafalger Square, Buckingham Palace, Soho, Houses of Paliament, WestminsterAbbey (Where Charles & Diana were married). London Eye, Thames River, etc.
We saw lots of beautiful old architectual buildings (much like the old Hudson Bay building), lots of monuments of war heroes. Wonderful, even a cuved street, one side convexed and the other side concaved, very interesting.
We met Mick's old army buddy Pat Peters and his wife who spent the afternoon showing us around. They were wonderfully nice people. I hope they will come to Canada and enjoy our hospitality one day so we can show them Victoria.
The traffic in London is extemely busy, lots of cars buzzing around.... they seem to come from everywhere, and every corner, but every one is so polite and patient. No one runs lights, when the light changes for the pedestrians, the cars stop and the people walk. What a good idea!
Anyway, it was a big exciting day for me. For Mick, I think, lots of memories.
Claire
